Sneak Peak

Verge Arts Festival 2008 takes inspiration from the great fringe festivals from around the globe. We aim to promote meaningful and continuous collaboration between the university and broader community with a focus on unique, unconventional and innovative artistic endeavours.

September 1 - 14!

What is ‘the fringe’?

Being marginal, counter-cultural, and outside the mainstream.

A cultural hub where artists are encouraged to take risks in a creatively supporting and vibrant community. Like-minded participants create a dynamic and productive atmosphere that engages audiences in a range of artistic features. Collaboration is key and multiple backgrounds and viewpoints can be fused together by different cultural and artistic groups in exciting new projects.

Max and Steph met through the Sydney University Drama Society (SUDS) where they joined musical forces in the SUDS major production of 2007 and became close friends, going on to direct, produce, and create theatre together for over a year. Max and Steph share a passion and energy for arts and culture that they hope to convey through this year’s festival program, highlighting the vibrancy of our youthful arts community and encouraging a continued meaningful commitment to producing quality art throughout all campuses of the university.
